“We all live it every day. This dream enables
us to make a good living working from home scheduling appointments
at our own leisure along with securing and helping families
throughout America. Yes, that is what we do. As the products
continue to get better so do the leads. They continue to get
stronger and stronger. These leads are not just names of people,
they are strong, pre-qualified leads that are filled out by
interested potential applicants in their own handwriting and asking
us to call them. Yes, “call them…” This is a far cry from my
previous occupation.
Working on Wall Street as a stockbroker for 9 years had its ups
and downs. Many more downs than ups as my income was based on the
performance of stocks. But, before any income could be made a book
of clients had to be amassed. How was this done? Making 400 plus
phone calls a day and hoping someone would speak to you and, if
lucky enough, to have more than a 2 to 3 minute conversation with
them that had to encompass their investment objectives along with
their current investments in the market. But that wasn’t all, I then
had to convince them to listen to my firms latest stock
recommendations. Yes, this was considered a “lead”. If you were good
enough you would get 3 to 5 leads per day after making 400 plus
phone calls.
Let’s do the math for a typical week. If you were able to
maintain the drive and work ethic to dial 2,000 phone calls per
week, week in and week out, this would result in a maximum of 15 to
25 leads. Now the next thing you would have to do is to convince the
prospect on the phone to invest $5,000 to $250,000 in the company’s
next stock recommendation. These investments, if the stock price
increased, could bring taxable gains, of if the stock price
decreased could result in significant losses. The stockbroker’s job
is to raise a lot of money and hopefully make a positive return on
the investor’s money, but the result could also be major losses.
This is the exact opposite of what we do at Ascencea. We speak with
people who want to be spoken with. We raise little amounts of money
(monthly premium) to protect a homeowners biggest investment. And we
provide our clients with the option of having returned 100% of the
premiums paid at the end of the term period, assuming no benefits
are previously paid. What a drastic difference from my prior
career!
In 2001, when I financially hit rock bottom, the Ascencea dream
